Why keep track?

The NMS community has long suspected that completing the missions offerred at The Nexus within the Space Anomaly have an inconsistent impact on the overall progress of the Community Mission. In order to gather more data on this, many people started recording the progress of the Community Missions.

Where does the data come from?

We gently query the Galactic Atlas API every few minutes and store the response in the Assistant for No Man's Sky database.

  • 0Number of records
  • ...Current Mission Tier
  • 0 %Current Mission progress

The Assistant for No Man's Sky apps have a service that runs 24/7 and requests the status from the Galactic Atlas API. This data is then stored both a database and within a Redis cache. This data is served to anyone who requests it from the AssistantNMS API. This means that a request for the Community Mission progress through the AssistantNMS API never makes a request to HelloGames servers as the data is already sitting in the database or Redis cache. If the AssistantNMS API is being attacked through a DDOS attack, HelloGames will not be affected. We would never want to put strain on the HelloGames servers🔥
